Water or Sewer System Problems:

If you don’t have water or sewer, have low pressure, or have leaks on your property, call the Town Office. After hours, a recording will play for emergency information.

Water Meters:

To read your water meter, town staff will have to enter onto your property to read the meter on the exterior of your residence or business. This will be done towards the end of each two-month billing cycle. If they are unable to read your meter for whatever reason, a small yellow card will be left on your door. In this case, you must either read the meter yourself and return the card, or contact the Town Office.

Water meters must be kept clear of obstructions to better accommodate the meter reading process.

We are currently in the process of changing out the water meters throughout town.

Water Bills:

Accounts for water and sewer are sent out every two months, and must be paid within 60 days. If bills are not paid, the water service will be shut off.

Payment for utility bills can be made using cash, cheque, debit, e-transfer, or online payment.

To sign up for E-billing, contact the Town Office.

When making an online payment, please include the account number given on the top right-hand side of your utility bill. This will be a three-digit number, but you may need to fill in zeroes depending on what your bank requires.

Water Rates:

In town, the minimum charge for the first 3,000 gallons or less of water is $35.25.

·        After 3,000 gallons, each 1,000 gallons (or part thereof) will result in an additional charge of $4.00, up to 6,000 gallons.

·        After 6,000 gallons, each additional 1,000 gallons (or part thereof) will result in an additional charge of $4.25.

For R.M. properties, the minimum charge for the first 3,000 gallons is $70.50.

·        After 3,000 gallons, each additional 1,000 gallons (or part thereof) will result in an additional charge of $8.00.

Schools, as well as unmetered properties, are charged differently. Consult Town Bylaw No. 04/17 for more information.

Disconnecting Your Water:

If you wish to disconnect your water – either permanently or seasonally – please contact the Town Office to do this. There will be a charge of $75.00.

Fire Hydrants:

The Town of Qu’Appelle maintains fire hydrants throughout the town for fire suppression purposes. If a hydrant is damaged or in need of maintenance, please call the Town Office.
